New EU requirements: introduction of new EC fans.
Be 100% ready with Reventon.

On 24 July 2026, Commission Regulation (EU) 2024/1834 of 3 July 2024 implementing Directive 2009/125/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council – commonly referred to as ErP 2026 – will enter into force. It introduces stricter energy efficiency requirements applicable, among others, to fans used in HVAC applications and replaces the requirements currently in force under ErP 2015.
This change requires the implementation of new fans in the units manufactured and placed on the market by REVENTON GROUP Sp. z o.o.

What exactly is changing?
EC motors replace AC motors

On 24 July 2026, the new EU regulation (ErP 2026) will enter into force. It mandates the use of fans with higher energy efficiency.

The regulation does not apply to fans with a rated power below 125 W.

Traditional AC motorswith power > 125 W will be discontinued

The motors currently in use which do not meet the energy efficiency requirements of ErP 2026 will be gradually phased out of production. A one-year transitional period is provided for fans integrated into other products.

Transitional yearFOR ADAPTATION

Fans integrated into other products already available on the market remain in the offer for one additional year.

EC motorsThe new standard

EC fans are characterised by optimal performance and high efficiency. They fully comply with the ErP 2026 requirements and will form the basis of Reventon’s new product range.

The lawdoes not apply retroactively

AC units placed on the market before the new rules enter into force remain 100% lawful. You may freely resell and install them without any time limit.

Who is affected by the regulations?

These provisions will be strictly enforced in all Member States of the European Economic Area (EEA), as well as in other countries that align their legislation with EU law (e.g. on the basis of bilateral agreements).

Exceptions to the rule and your rights

One-year transitional period for integrated fans
(for which the deadline is extended until 23 July 2027):
The new rules enter into force on 24 July 2026, with the exception of fans that meet all of the following criteria:
– They are integrated into other products.
– They are placed on the market within the first year from the date of application of the regulation.
– They meet the previous requirements, i.e. ErP 2015.
– The first unit of the model was placed on the market before 24 July 2026.
Manufacturer’s obligations (Reventon)
The directive concerns the placing on the market. From 24 July 2026, Reventon will place on the market only units compliant with ErP 2026.
Distributor’s benefits and rights
Units placed on the market before the rules enter into force may be freely resold and installed without any time limit.

Fans complying with ErP 2015 that are integrated into other products already on the market remain in the offer for one additional year.

In addition, in connection with the new Circular Economy requirements entering into force on 24 July 2028, manufacturers will be obliged to provide greater support during the operational lifecycle of the equipment. This includes ensuring the availability of spare parts and more detailed technical documentation.
PLACING ON THE MARKET – What does it mean for the Distributor?
The invoice date is the cut-off date: A unit is deemed to be placed on the market at the moment Reventon issues a VAT invoice to your company.

Unlimited right to trade and install: All units purchased by you (as evidenced by the invoice date) before the new rules enter into force may be resold and installed by you without any time limitation whatsoever.

Protection of stock levels: If you purchase a unit complying with the ErP 2015 standard, with an invoice date no later than 23 July 2026, it is deemed to have been placed on the market before the regulatory change (24 July 2026).

One-year transitional period: For fans integrated into other products, this deadline is even more favourable. In this case, it is sufficient to purchase the unit with an invoice date no later than 23 July 2027 in order to retain full freedom of trade and installation in the future.
Secure your stock levels in compliance with the law!

Fans and air curtains with AC motors purchased from Reventon Group before the relevant deadlines constitute fully lawful goods for further resale.
