HC-EC

The HC-EC destratifier is equipped with an energy-efficient EC motor with stepless speed regulation in the 0–100% range. The device is designed to recirculate warm air accumulating under the ceiling in facilities with heights above 4 m, such as production halls, warehouses, and logistics centers. By bringing the accumulated heat back down to the human-occupied zone, the unit balances the temperature in the facility and reduces heat loss through the roof.

About the product

HC-EC is an energy-efficient destratifier with an EC motor, designed for large indoor spaces with high ceilings — production halls, warehouses and logistics centres. Unlike 3-stage systems, smooth 0–100% speed control allows airflow to be precisely matched to actual demand and energy consumption to be reduced in continuous operation.

Best results are achieved in combination with unit heaters. The unit heater generates heat, and HC-EC returns it to the working zone before it escapes through the roof — a particularly effective arrangement in facilities heated by HC, FARMER or S series unit heaters.

The EC motor enables integration with programmable HMI controllers with BMS input, allowing the operation of destratifiers to be included in the central building management system.

What do you gain with the HC-EC destratifier?

Smooth speed control in the range of 0–100%

Energy-efficient EC motor matched to actual demand

The EC motor in the HC-EC model operates with smooth speed control, meaning the unit does not waste energy running at full speed when the facility requires a much lower airflow. The operator selects the operating speed to suit conditions — higher output during intensive facility heating, lower speed in temperature maintenance mode. In continuous operation, this translates into a measurable reduction in electricity consumption compared to AC motor units with fixed stage control.

Lightweight, resilient EPP housing

Low weight facilitates installation at height

The expanded polypropylene housing gives the unit a weight of just 15.5 kg — this significantly facilitates ceiling installation and all subsequent servicing work requiring removal of the unit. The material dampens vibrations and motor noise, and in the event of an accidental impact deforms and returns to its original shape rather than cracking.

360° diffuser and vertical reach up to 11 m

Even air distribution in all directions

The 360° diffuser in galvanised steel directs the airstream evenly around the unit’s axis, eliminating underheated zones characteristic of fans with a unidirectional nozzle. Combined with vertical reach of up to 11 m, HC-EC effectively returns warm air from the ceiling back to the working zone where it is most needed.

Ready for BMS integration

Programmable control and remote monitoring of installation operation

The EC motor enables integration with HMI EC BMS, HMI SINGLE BMS and HMI Wi-Fi controllers. In facilities where several destratifiers run in parallel, this allows central management of all units from a single interface, programming of operating schedules and integration of the destratifiers with the existing building management system. Wi-Fi configuration enables remote control and diagnostics without physical access to the unit mounted at ceiling height.

FAQ

The EC motor operates with smooth speed control in the range of 0–100%, whereas AC motors offer stepped control (e.g. 3-stage) or single-stage. In practice, this means HC-EC allows airflow to be precisely matched to actual demand, enabling the unit to use the supplied thermal energy more efficiently and maintain thermal comfort in the facility at lower electricity consumption. The EC motor also operates more quietly at partial speed, when revs are reduced to the level sufficient to maintain the destratification effect.

Yes. HC-EC is prepared for integration with programmable HMI EC BMS and HMI SINGLE BMS controllers, which have a dedicated BMS input. This allows the destratifier's operation to be included in the central facility management system, operating schedules to be programmed, and the unit to be integrated with the existing building automation installation. The solution is particularly effective in high industrial buildings where several units run in parallel requiring coordinated control.

The choice depends on the installation scale. For a single unit without BMS integration, a manual thermostat HC is sufficient — it switches the destratifier on when warm air is detected near the ceiling and switches it off once the heat has been effectively returned to the occupied zone. For precise EC smooth speed control, we recommend the HMI EC BMS. If remote control and diagnostics without physical access to the unit are required, choose HMI Wi-Fi. For larger installations with several units, HMI SINGLE BMS with central management capability is the best solution.

The HC-EC destratifier weighs 15.5 kg net. Unit dimensions are 739 × 699 × 345 mm. The low weight relative to performance (5,800 m³/h) results from the EPP housing technology and is significant for ceiling installation at height.

HC-EC is designed for ceiling mounting. A dedicated rotating bracket (horizontal rotation for precise airstream direction) or a Z-type vibration-damped suspension bracket (reduction of vibrations transmitted to the building structure, recommended for lightweight ceilings) is used as standard. The specific mounting arrangement is selected taking into account the building height, ceiling load capacity and the required flexibility of unit positioning.

Maximum noise level is 62 dB at full speed. Thanks to smooth EC control, noise levels can be significantly reduced by lowering the speed — in temperature maintenance mode, when moderate airflow is sufficient, the unit operates noticeably more quietly. Additionally, the EPP housing dampens vibrations and some of the motor operating noise.

HC-EC is not connected directly to a heat source. The destratifier does not generate heat but redistributes it within the facility. According to the laws of physics, warm air rises and accumulates in the upper parts of the room, leaving a cooler working zone below. The destratifier returns this accumulated heat back down, regardless of the heat source — gas boiler, heat pump or unit heaters. The result is reduced heat loss through the roof and improved efficiency of the entire heating system.

The EC motor is a maintenance-free design in typical operating conditions — it requires no lubrication or adjustment. Periodic cleaning of the impeller blades and housing from dust deposits is recommended, which maintains the nominal airflow. Cleaning frequency depends on the conditions in the facility. Due to the unit being installed at height, it is advisable to plan maintenance work in conjunction with other servicing tasks in the facility.
